Pricing

  1. How much is bulb through GMetrix?

    • Student access can be purchased for $4.50 per user.
    • Educators get access for free when student access is purchases through GMetrix.

  2. How is bulb purchased through GMetrix?

    • Ask your Certiport Territory Manager for additional information on pricing and to set up enrollment.

Accounts

  1. Does bulb offer single sign-on (SSO)?

    • Yes. Users can access bulb directly from the GMetrix Student and Administrator Portals.
    • In addition to GMetrix, bulb also supports SSO through Google and Microsoft.

  2. Can students keep their bulb account after graduating or moving schools?

    • Yes. Students can use their personal email address with a bulb account to retain access after graduating or changing schools. Keep in mind, free accounts have some limitations.

  3. Can bulb users choose who they share their portfolio with?

    • Yes. bulb’s custom share settings allow users to choose who can view each page.

  4. Can instructors access student portfolios?

    • Yes. With Teacher Visibility, instructors can easily view their student’s portfolios. Teachers can’t see content that isn’t shared.

Technical

  1. Does bulb work on mobile devices?

    • bulb works on most mobile devices, tablets, and computers. You can access bulb using a web browser.

    • Supported browsers include:
      • Apple Safari
      • Google Chrome
      • Microsoft Edge

    • Supported platforms include:
      • Android 10 (and newer)
      • iOS 14 (and newer)
      • iPadOS 14 (and newer)
      • macOS El Capitan (10.11 and newer)
      • Windows 10 (and newer)

  2. What kind of files can be added in bulb?

    • bulb supports nearly any file attachment and supports the following multimedia types:
      • Audio: M4A, MP3, and WAV
      • Images: BMP, GIF, HEIC, JFIF, JPEG, JPG, PNG, TIF, TIFF, WebP
      • Videos: 3G2, 3GP, ASF, AVI, FLV, M4V, MKV, MOV, MP4, VOB, WMV

      • Online video services: Videos from YouTube and Vimeo can be embedded using a URL.
      • Restrictions: All supported media formats have a maximum file size of 10 GB.

  3. What are the storage limitations?

    • Each paid bulb account has unlimited storage. Free accounts are limited to 2 GB. Data will be lost when downgrading to a free account.

  4. Can files be embedded on a page?

    • Yes. The following file types can be embedded:
      • Apple iWork (online only): Pages, Keynote, Numbers (requires iCloud)
      • Google: Docs, Sheets, and Slides
      • Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
      • PDF
      • Most multimedia file types (audio, images, and video)

    • Some file formats have size constraints. These files will be uploaded as an attachment, instead of being embedded:
      • Excel files exceeding 5 MB
      • Word and PowerPoint files exceeding 10 MB
      • PDFs exceeding 10 MB

  5. Can online content be embedded?

    • Yes. bulb uses iFramely as an embedding service, supporting rich media from over 1900 domains and generating previews for thousands more.

    • In addition to iFramely, the following content can be embedded:
      • Apple iWork files hosted in iCloud.
      • Many files within Google Drive and Microsoft One Drive.
      • X (formerly Twitter) posts and profiles.
      • Facebook posts.
      • Google Calendar.

  6. Does bulb support hypertext?

    • Yes. Text can be converted to hyperlinks that redirect to external URLs.

  7. Does bulb support LTI integrations?

    • Yes. bulb works with, Blackboard, Canvas, D2L, Google Classroom, ItsLearning, and Schoology.
