With LTI Advantage (LTI 1.3) you can connect GMetrix to Blackboard using the Client ID or Application ID provided by GMetrix.
Once connected, you can add GMetrix Courses and Practice Exams to Blackboard courses. You'll be able to see scores and progress, and learners will be able to access assigned Courses and Practice Exams directly within Blackboard.
Configure LTI 1.3 for Blackboard
Contact GMetrix Support before proceeding with a district, multi-school, institutional hierarchy, or multiple-deployment implementation.
Before you begin
• Make sure you have access to the GMetrix Administrator Portal.
• Make sure you have administrator access in Blackboard.
• Check whether GMetrix is already registered in Blackboard before adding another registration.
Important: If GMetrix is already registered, do not register it again.Part 1. Establish the Connection
Sign in to Both Platforms
In a web browser, open two new windows or tabs:
In the first, sign in to the GMetrix Administrator Portal.
In the second, sign in to your Blackboard account.
In GMetrix
- From the sidebar, select Integrations.
- In the LTI 1.3 (Advantage) section, copy the Client ID or Application ID provided for Blackboard.
In Blackboard
Register GMetrix
Check for an Existing Registration You only need to establish the connection once. From the Administrator Panel in Blackboard, under Integrations, select LTI Tool Providers. Search the tool-provider list for GMetrix. If GMetrix appears in the list, stop and contact GMetrix Support to confirm whether the existing registration should be used.
Select Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool.
Enter the GMetrix Client ID or Application ID.
Select Submit.
Review the configuration returned by Blackboard.
From the Status list, select Approved.
Review the institution policies and permissions.
Select Submit.
Submit the Deployment ID to GMetrix
Locate the Deployment ID generated for GMetrix.
Copy the Deployment ID.
Contact GMetrix Support and provide Blackboard as the LMS, the applicable Testing Center or organization, and the Blackboard Deployment ID.
Part 2. Confirm the Connection Is Complete
In Blackboard
Confirm that GMetrix appears in LTI Tool Providers.
Confirm that the GMetrix tool status is Approved.
Confirm that the Blackboard Deployment ID was submitted for the correct Testing Center or organization.
Confirm that GMetrix is available to the intended Blackboard users or courses.
After Setup
Single Sign-On (SSO): After the connection is established, users can launch GMetrix from Blackboard without needing to sign in to both platforms.
Grade Passback: Supported Practice Exam scores can be returned to Blackboard based on the assignment settings.
Deep Linking: Instructors can select and add supported GMetrix content directly from within Blackboard.
