With LTI Advantage (LTI 1.3) you can use Dynamic Registration to connect GMetrix to Moodle.
Once connected, you can add GMetrix Courses and Practice Exams to Moodle courses. You'll be able to see scores and progress, and learners will be able to access assigned Courses and Practice Exams directly within Moodle.
Configure LTI 1.3 for Moodle
If you are using a self-hosted, district, multi-site, or nonstandard Moodle implementation, contact GMetrix Support before proceeding.Before you begin • Make sure you have access to the GMetrix Administrator Portal. • Make sure you have administrator access in Canvas. • Confirm that your Moodle site supports LTI 1.3 Dynamic Registration.
Part 1. Establish the Connection
Sign in to Both Platforms
In a web browser, open two new windows or tabs:
In the first, sign in to the GMetrix Administrator Portal.
In the second, sign in to your Moodle account.
In GMetrix
From the sidebar, select Integrations.
In the LTI 1.3 (Advantage) section, copy the Dynamic Registration URL.
In Moodle
Add GMetrix as a Tool
- Select the Site administration tab.
- Select the Plugins tab.
- Select Activity modules → External tools → Manage tools.
- Paste the Dynamic Registration URL from GMetrix into Tool URL.
- Select Add LTI Advantage.
- Locate the GMetrix tool and select Activate.
Part 2. Confirm the Tool is Active
In Moodle
- Confirm that GMetrix appears in Activity modules → External tools → Manage tools.
- Confirm that the GMetrix tool is active.
- If the tool shows "Pending" select the green Activate button to complete registration.
- Confirm that GMetrix is available from the intended external tool or activity options.
After Setup
Single Sign-On (SSO): After the connection is established, users can launch GMetrix from Moodle without needing to sign in to both platforms.
Grade Passback: Supported Practice Exam scores can be returned to Moodle based on the assignment settings.
Deep Linking: Instructors can select and add supported GMetrix content directly from within Moodle.
